Carl Zimmer is a columnist for the New York Times and national correspondent for Stat. He started in journalism at Discover, where he became a senior editor. Zimmer is the author of a dozen books, including Parasite Rex and Evolution: Making Sense of Life, an evolution textbook for biology majors. Zimmer has written for publications including National Geographic, the Atlantic, and Wired. He is also a frequent guest on Radiolab. He had won numerous awards for his work, including the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Biology Teacher. He is currently writing a book about heredity.
